itunes external mac drive on PC

I have been using an imac to look after my music files through iTunes, the music is all stored on an external drive.

I now want to use this drive on itunes on a PC to access the music collection.
So far I've installed Macdrive and can navigate the files on the disc, pointed iTunes to the external drive but the tunes are not showing up in iTunes and therefore won't play.

Anyone got any ideas what I'm doing wrong, or even if this can be done? PC running XP SP2.

Have you gone into itunes and under the "file" menu chosen "Add folder to Library" and then selected the "itunes music folder"?

Also you say the tunes wont play, can you play them in say Windows media player or another player by clicking on the music file directly? or are they protected media?

Brilliant, that's what I'd missed. All sorted now.
