USB-C car charger

Options
Having just had my new Nexus 5X delivered I've started to look around for accessories, and wondered if anyone is aware of a car charger with a USB-C port available in the UK? I bought a USB-A to USB-C cable so I can use my existing charger but I understand the charging rate is a lot lower than if both ends are USB-C.

The only one I've found is this one, but that's in the US and it's not clear whether it's actually on sale yet anyway.

They don't appear to be USB-C ports (although it may still charge quicker than a standard charger).

The link doesn't go direct to the alternate "2 ports with C cable". Click that, the look at the pictures and the spec. It shows a One PlusOne phone charging

But the point is to get the full quick charging capability the ports need to be USB-C, and those aren't.

I thought the point of USB-C was that it didn't matter which way round you inserted the plug?

The charging rate will depend on the capacity of the charger plugged in to the power socket. e.g. I have a dual port USB charger where one port gives 2A if used on its own, the other gives 1A, or both give 1A if both are used.

That is the key point, but my understanding, from admittedly limited research, is that the full charging capabilities of the Nexus 5X are only available through a USB-C to USB-C cable. I could of course be wrong about that, but it doesn't negate the original question I asked which hasn't been directly answered yet.

The new type C socket on the nexus will be able to draw 3amps if you use a suitably rated cable and a charger that can provide 3 amps. The car charger linked in the op is only rated too 1.5amps, so using that, even with the correct USB type C cable will not quick charge the nexus. You might be better using something like this with a suitable conversion cable http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/avantree-high-power-3-1a-dual-usb-universal-in-car-charger-p39366.htm

So the general conclusion at the moment appears to be that although there are other chargers that will do a similar job there are none on the market that actually have a USB-C socket. No doubt they will start to appear at some point so I'll keep my eyes open for them.

    ???

I think the general consensus is ... if you want fast charging, get a charger with a USB-C connector that provides a high amperage charging rate.

This could easily be a car charger that only has USB ports on it, and you use your Nexus 5X cable with it? (Or does the 5X cable have USB-C at both ends?)

Well, my question was is there a car charger available in the UK with a USB-C port, not is there a fast car charger, and none of the responses has provided any evidence for the existence of such a beast, so that's the general consensus I was referring to. If you know to the contrary feel free to post about it.

The supplied cable is C at both ends, but as I said in my OP I also purchased a A-C cable so I can use my existing car charger, albeit at a lower charging rate.
