Transferring money to overseas bank acount

I want to transfer some money (£1,000) to my daughter's bank account in Canada. I have read what Martin has to say on this subject but wondered if anyone had any experience of doing this personally. I can use my bank which has a flat fee of £25. This seems quite expensive.
Thanks

Hi
I often transfer money to a Spanish account, if you use your bank they will apply this fee and they will give you a poor rate. I use transferwise It takes usually 2 days and the rate is much better. I can give you a referral link that will give you a free transfer for up to £3000, or you can go via quidco and get £5.
disclaimer:my referral will earn me a bonus and will only be supplied is specifically asked for.0 -

£9.50 if you have a halifax bank account - £25 fee sounds like its the CHAPS service being used and not international transfer service....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards.
