Have you got a wheelie bin ?
Can't your family just chuck you in there ?

You have to consider your friends and family , if you die and haven't made any provision would you really want them to have to go through any more grief? ......assuming you have any one who will grieve over you that is

The family would only come around to see what they'd get out of the Will. I think there's only the dog that would miss me.

  • The price of creating a horse is about £500. Human beings are smaller so it ought to be slightly cheaper.

Is it necessary to have a coffin? Surely a black bag would suffice.
I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".

My Mother has paid for her funeral in advance, securing her plot and funeral costs. Her only request was we donate any money for flowers to her charity.

As for me, they can put my cremated remains in a bin bag and take to the local tip.

Is that all? Dolly the Sheep cost around £500,000, so I'd have thought a horse would cost more, but maybe the costs have come down since then...

Not that long ago, not being able to pay for a funeral for a loved one (or yourself) was the ultimate shame and embarrassment for a person/family. Even some of the poorest people paid into funeral clubs to make sure it didn't happen to them.

Now we have people actively seeking a paupers funeral (paid for by other taxpayers) ...amazing how time's change.
  • Why on earth should anyone pay for your funeral, its down to what you leave and hopefully your family I would be horrified to think that when I shuffle off to where ever, my family would expect the tax payer to fund my departure.

I have enough funds to pay for my own, and my only proviso is that I am buried and not cremated, but that is personal choice.I have also stated that I want any flowers to be seen by me before I go as I'm darned sure I don't want cash spent on them afterwards.

When my late OH passed away my DD collected funds in lieu of flowers from friends and family and the whole of the proceeds went to the local hospital 'Friends of Family' as they had been so kind and helpful to me and my family at a particularly dreadful time in our lives. It amounted to around £900 My OH would have firmly approved as he also thought wreaths and bouquets were a waste of good resources We had one wreath on his coffin that a good friend of mine had made as she was a florist and the rest went into the hospital fund.Draped over his coffin was a flag from his beloved football team that the club had couriered down on the day.One of my DGS's had it given to him afterwards by the funeral directors and it hangs on his wall to remind him of his much loved Granddad. To see piles of flowers just blowing around on a churchyard is such a sad waste and the cash collected went to help others at their 'dreadful time' as well. So stump up for your own departure and don't expect other to do it

A Paupers funeral is a very sad state for anyone to leave this world by and I'm sure a church or crematorium would find it odd for a paupers funeral to be packed with friends and family very odd to say the least
