Venting a redundant external chimney stack

If a bedroom with a redundant external chimney stack is blocked up internally, should it always have some sort of vent retrospectively fitted in the room? The chimney pot has a pepperpot fitted which will allow ventilation at the top of the chimney stack but I wanted to know if an internal vent should be fitted (should this be an airbrick?)
I am concerned that because the stack is on an external wall, the inside of the chimney will be very cold in winter and if I add a vent warm most air will be drawn up and result in condensation.
Just wanted to find out if I need to do any work on the chimney before the room is plastered.
Many thanks for any advice

The chimney pot and stack above roof levelcan come off. A simple vent to the external stack and also to the rooms internal fire place will be perfectI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
