Nail polish remover to clean superglue from TV bezel

Hi all - not sure if this is the right place to ask this but thought I'd give it a go.

I have a Samsung TV, which has a black plastic bezel and then a detachable silver bezel which runs along the bottom of the TV with the Samsung logo on. I say detachable, it snaps on and off but it isn't a design feature, it is meant to stay on but is decorative mainly!

Anyway, I noticed the corner of this silver bottom bezel had detached a bit and the only way to seemingly secure it was to dab a little superglue on the inside and stick it back to the TV. I did this but it still wasn't perfectly even so I managed to detach it and try and snap it back in place. It will do this but it looked like a small blob of superglue was stopping it snap exactly into place.

To remove this, I rubbed a small amount of nail polish remover from a cotton wool ball onto the plastic of the TV, which is hidden under this silver plastic bezel, and managed to scrape the glue off. I know this was risky as acetone reacts with plastic but it was just a small amount.

The acetone added a slight white clouding to the TV plastic, but it will be under the silver detachable bit and won't be visible. But does anyone know if it could eat and dissolve the plastic all the way and potentially damage the wiring, or will the effects be purely cosmetic/surface based?

It won't continue to eat away the plastic or get any worse. The acetone will have all evaporated within a few seconds of you applying it, so what you have is what will remain.

I doubt if it will do any more damage than it has already done.

Acetone evaporates quite quickly.

Stop worrying.
