DLA to PIP - Time notification

Options
I have today received a letter to say my DLA is ending on 12th November, and to apply for Pip. Is this right, I thought more notice had to be given for this?

I understand that they will continue to pay my DLA until a decision has been reached, but what if this is not reached until well after that date, will I have to repay DLA received, if I do not qualify for PIP.

DWP give you 28 days to apply which includes time in the postal system which would tally with the time you've been given.

No you won't. Your DLA will remain in payment until a PIP decision is reached you won't have to pay it back if it's adverse. You will not get a decision before the date you've got, its simply for you to apply for PIP.
You need to make sure you apply in accordance with your letter and not be late.

Your DLA will be cancelled on the 12th November if you do not claim for PIP. It does not matter how long your DLA is valid for it will be cancelled on the 12th November. The only way to keep your DLA is to claim PIP before the date you have been given. Once you have made a claim for PIP you will keep your DLA until a decision has been made about PIP. You must ring the PIP number to apply before the date you have been given and when you receive the PIP form you must send the PIP form back before the date they will give you (I recommend recorded delivery). If you miss either of these dates your DLA is cancelled.
You do not repay any DLA, if the PIP is different. The PIP decision should take no longer than 18 weeks.

I telephoned them as soon as I got the letter, and am awaiting the PIP forms. I am also due for ESA review in December, just wish it was a different time of year, as I worry and stress so much and will not enjoy Xmas.
