How best to manage short term credit card cash debt

Bought new house then my car, oven and now boiler have all died over the last few weeks wiping out my savings. Would like some advice on best way to handle this short term debt as next yr work bonus will clear the debt.

I intend to pay for boiler by credit card cash transfer from my Tesco Cc. Understand I will be charged interest immediately on this so was then planning on opening a new CC with at least 12mths 0% interest on balance transfers.

Accept I may have to pay a transfer fee but is there anything else I should be concerned about?

Should I open the new CC account before I do the bank transfer or do I need to provide transfer details on opening new Cc account?

Don't see the point in a loan when I know I can pay money off next April but need the boiler money now.

Any tips gratefully received

Apply for the card before doing the cash transfer, since this will show up on your report and might make you look desperate.

Can you not pay for any of those repairs by card?

This is the classic situation for which bank overdrafts are appropriate, so do ask your bank what they could offer. And you might see if you can open an account with a bank that offers a fee-free overdraft..

Check out the cards from Virgin/MBNA since these usually allow you an interest-free cash transfer (with a fee, generally around 4 per cent).
