Thanks all, just to update, pasted below is the copied text from their pointless letter. Giving the 'outcome of my complaint'.
...
I suggest you send them a very brief follow up saying you are not happy with the outcome of their investigation, you do not accept their proposed resolution and that what you require to resolve the matter is [insert what you require as a bullet point summary, which is hopefully repeating what you have previously requested].
Then say if, following their internal review, they are still unwilling to provide this remedy you wish them to confirm that that is their final position and that you can take your complaint to the Energy Ombudsman.
Also state you believe they should have all the information they need to conduct their internal review from your previous dealings with them and that you require all further communication to be in writing.
I suggest you don't waste any time repeating the substance of your complaint.0 -
If you don't live in Nottingham City Council area you can still complain to the councillors as 2 of them, Steve Battlemuch and Allan Clark are actually directors of Robin Hood Energy and need to be aware of your issue with the company. You can write to them c/o Nottingham CIty Council, Loxley House, Station Street, Nottingham. Good luck.0

Just a follow up on my issue.....I got the bank to claw back the £960 (just as well as it took RHE 15 days to return the funds!!! ) more of which later. I'd spoken to RHE and told them that I'd asked the bank to reclaim the unauthorised direct debit which they did within 24 hours, I also told RHE that I had incurred £30 in back charges which they agreed to refund. They explained that the problem was likely to have stemmed from what I'd entered on the sign up form - may well have been but I told them the form was sh*te if it allowed this sort of error not to be trapped. I did receive an email from Ms Kirk in response to my complaint confirming that they would refund my charges and that they would endeavour to put systems in place to prevent further occurrences of this issue.
I expected my agreed monthly direct debit (I changed to a fixed monthly figure rather thatn variable to prevent big amounts being taken in the future) to be taken but was surprised to find a credit to my account of the £960 less what I had agreed to pay montly - this dispite my informing them that I had arranged for the bank to reclaim the unauthorised direct debit. I moved this to my savings account 'for safety' and informed RHE. They suggested that they could set up a variable direct debit and reclaim the money (but agreed I was probably reluctant to take this step - too bloody right I was) or they could issue me with an invoice for the amount less the bank charges which I have agreed too. I am currently awaiting the invoice and will probably make them wait a little so I can earn a bit of interest by way of compensztion for the hassle - I did cheekily ask if this was a compensation payment but it fell oon deaf ears.0
