Are 4.5 W GU10 Led's still made?

HI...cant seem to find Phillips LED's of this wattage...bought 3.5 W...not bright enough! thanks.

  • it's more to do with the lumens (light output) of the lamp rather than wattage (electricity used).
LED lamps are much more efficient now so a 4w GU10 can easily give out 400 lumens (quite bright, but every person has different requirements / expectations of brightness). your older/cheaper lamps could easily be 4.5w but only output 280-300 lumens for example.

see if your older lamps have the lumens and colour output (warm white, cool white or daylight), usually measured in kelvins (k), and match your new lamps to this rather than the wattage if you want a similar light output.
  • Philips still do higher wattage bulbs 5.5w 350 lumen. I seen some bulbs use less watts and output better lumens than that as well

I agree it the lumens you need to know some quality bulbs use less watts but are brighter than cheaper bulbs ie more efficient more lumens per watt

Don't look for the wattage, look for the lumens. Wattage is simply how much electric it uses, nothing to do with the light output, although admittedly that's how we've been comparing bulbs until now.
What are you replacing that the 3.5W aren't bright enough for? 50w halogens? (Read the old bulbs). If so, you're looking for 450-500lumens, say, and not some junk from eBay that will put any number they like on!
