Cc money transfer to pay overdraft

Afternoon All

I am after some assistance. I currently have a Santander account. This goes into the overdraft every month currently and is costing me around £24 a month + £2 account fee. I am keen to try and cut out this kind of cost as it seems like throwing money away.

My wife and I have just purchased a house so I am looking at all bills. Would anyone advise using one of these credit cards with a money transfer and then wiping my overdraft with Santander and paying the card off per month during the 0% period?

I don't want to go borrowing money and getting it wrong. I know there is likely to be a fee for borrowing the money to begin with but does this make sense or am I being stupid even considering this?

  • Instead of transferring money you could buy all your shopping, pay bills on the credit card and in theory leave your 'cash' in the account. Really though I guess you need to look at why you are going into the overdraft every month and look to reduce outgoings.
