Hi Guys, Having a weird thing occurring with my I-pad photos/moments, just lately.
I only use it for screen captures, and the odd photo of the garden.
However, 2 weeks ago, there was a picture there, that wasn't taken by me,or OH, wife.
Today, another appeared, dated 25th august, of bikini clad girls.
I had just taken a screen capture, that's how I came to see it.
Definitely not a photo taken on my i-pad, or screen capture, and taken so long ago.
I use screen capture often, so know what's there, 6 at most usually.
As soon as it's done , I delete them.
Never store my pics on there, keep them on my Pc.
Can anyone explain how these photos appear.?
Might sound comical, bikini clad girls, but, wife doesn't see funny side of it, nor me.It's not !!!!!!, just photos.
installed IOS9 update, couple weeks ago, is it gremlins to do with that?
OH wouldn't know how to take SC or photo, and I only use it for banking.

Hi custardy, I don't use any apps at all. The only thing I use i-pad for is banking or buying online.
OH reads paper surfing M&s.& candy crush:-)
Always e-mail from Pc, rarely from I-pad

Are you sure you aren't sleep surfing ;)

No, but on a serious note, I do know that various apps, and various adverts displayed on some websites, do try to download APK files to your phone ..
And if they have a splash screen associated with them, then that splash screen would appear under a separate heading in your gallery ..

But, that is with android - and as you are using a (cr)apple, I couldn't possibly comment

    Hi, It's got me baffled.
Had the ipad 2 years, and this has just started in the last month.
Only 2 pics, nothing explicit, one of some lad singing on stage, and then this of 4 bikini lasses playing volleyball on a beach.
    Very poor quality, grainy.
How the last one had 25th August, on date taken, but just appeared on my ipad now, is weird. It's even between 2 dates within the last week, which I've taken screen captures?
Never use Apps, no slash screen, just as if I had taken a screen capture of a very poor picture.
The date taken confounds me, as I take screen captures regularly of Bank A/cs,online orders, etc, then delete straight away, so know what should be there.
stranger things have happened at sea.:rotfl:
as an ex sailor, I know;)
    see if another appears.

The fact that it is grainy tells me that it is actually a very small image that is being blown up for you to view.
It will be the icon for a failed install of an app that tried to install itself trust me.

Either that or its magic .. you choose

But I wouldn't worry about it

You label it "(cr)apple" that you know nothing about as an android user then suggest that trying to install an app on it's own accord is normal behaviour? or that ads try to download APK files to a device... glad i dont use android...

Do you have an icloud set up on the iPad? check in your settings, have you got a cheeky relative trying to play a little joke?

have you accidentally held your finger/thumb on an image on a website and saved it? seems far fetched from the steps required to do this...

You could look at this app and see if the metadata reveals the true source of the image https://photoapps.expert/tips/2014/10/6/viewing-image-metadata-photos-and-ios-8#.VietSX6rSM8

    Hi, thanks for reply
    NO, never use the cloud.
It keeps popping up to verify Cloud, apple id, since installing IOS 9.
Never ever set one up for cloud.I just click, ask later.
Never keep any photos, pics on i-pad.

No kids in the house, just me and wife.
    I know it.s not a screen shot,to hold the 2 in together,I do it regularly as I say.I
had to show the wife, how , in
case she had done it accidently(,No) .She's lost with Pcs etc.
The Picture too poor for a photo or screen grab from the i-pad,it's very grainy,

As you know, it's quite difficult to do, especially with a cover on: the date would not have shown 25th August, between 2 October dates of grabs if it was just taken on purpose.
Something definitely strange happening with i-pad.

I'm not worried, just confused, but , cannot agree with your assumption it's app.
    No way.
Don't have them , don't use them. only what came with it new.
It's rarely used, wife uses it mostly for reading paper and Candy Crush. I prefer my Pc.except for banking.
    It's certainly got me confused,it was the wife who noticed them, not me, in "moments", when doing bank accounts , I had taken a screen shot of;
It wasn't there the day before, as I do screen
    shots regularly,got several accounts.

Apart from the tens of apps installed as new; you use an app for banking (at least one if not two); apps are used for reading papers; Candy Crush is an app. To see the images in the first place you are probably using an app rather than browsing the file system.

Can you check the properties of the pics? There is usually lots of information including the camera used etc. You may not be able to do this on the iPad but you can on your PC.
