Front door issues

Hello,

I was just looking for some advice. Recently moved in to a new home, and noticed the front door doesn't shut with a tight seal. It looks like the bottom right hand side of the door (standing inside of the door) is being pushed out. It's only a matter of millimetres but enough for the heat to escape! The gap, again although it is small, is more significant when the door is unlocked, pulling the handle up and engaging it's dead bolts does pull it in, but not quite enough.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Assuming that it's a UPVC door and you have already tried to adjust it, you can replace the seal around the door frame.

I have also recently moved home and noticed that the seals around the front/back UPVC doors where starting to perish. I bought some Stormguard uPVC Seal from screwfix. It's a relatively simple job... the hardest part was removing the old seal as it disintegrated in my hands.

The front door is now so well sealed, it's an effort to turn the handle... but I'm sure this will ease off in time as the seal compresses.

If you haven't tried to adjust it there will be two keeps at the top and the bottom which slide forwards/backwards a few mm - these are what the rollers engage into when you pull the handle up and secure the door against the frame. You can adjust these (some have a screw to slacken, move by hand then tighten, some have a backwards/forwards adjustment with an allen key). You probably just need to move these back a mm or two depending on the seal being good or not.
