PPI reassessed from 2012 CMC want more money

Hi i recieved a letter yesterday saying claim has been reassessed and they owe us nearly £2000. Great news until the CMC contacted us today having recieve the same letter how they want over £400 of it for doing nothing. CAN THEY DO THIS????

You have given the CMC permission to act on your behalf and get paid a fee for this. Unless you told them you no longer wanted them to do it they are entitled to a proportion of anything you receive.
You shouldn't have used a CMC in the first place it can all be done easily by yourself!0 -
I thought as much as a bonus i offered 10 per cent wish they accepted so i think even they realised they were being a bit cheeky. So if i tell them i no longer require their services they have no more claim on any other reassessments. Thanks for your responce0

Yea tell them that you no longer require their services. But also tell all the banks that they have made contact with not to send them letters anymore.0 -
You agreed to pay the CMC a percentage of any redress received for 10 minutes work and posting an envelope to the lender. They did what you employed them to do (wasteful as it is).So if i tell them i no longer require their services they have no more claim on any other reassessments.
Depends on the contract you signed. Whilst you are allowed to cancel the contract, there can be penalties for doing so.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
