Leaving ExtraEnergy to another supplier and still in credit

I moved on the 1st of October to Sainsbury's Energy and at the moment in credit with EE for £627.
My move seemed to go smoothly but EE do not communicate with customers full stop so made sure my DD was stopped with them.
My last bill with them was to the end of August this year so I only owe them duel fuel useage for September thus am expecting a fair wedge of cash back from them.
Can any forum user say if this will happen smoothly or will I need to fight for my money back ?

When you switch supplier, the losing supplier will create a final bill based on the agreed meter reading at switchover.
This can take up to 12 months, but usually is much quicker.
(it may be delayed if there is disagreement over the meter reading at switch, but should still be within 12 months)
You won't normally get any refund until that bill is produced as the supplier will not know what the refund (or oncost) is until the final bill is produced.
Normally I would expect the supplier to advise you of the arrangements when they produce a final bill indicating you are owed money
(just as you would expect them to advise what to do if you owed them money)
If in doubt, contact the supplier for clarification.
There will be no fight once you have a final bill (unless, of course, you wish to dispute the final bill when it is produced)0 -

They owe you the balance and you will receive it. Eventually. Make sure you don't make any plans to spend it. Don't expect to resolve it before Christmas.0 -
