Tiling Adhesive failure

Hi,
Recently brought Unibond Tiling Adhesive from B&Q.
To my horror during the tiling the bathroom tiles started falling from the walls reigning down on my new double bath.
Im no tiling newbie and have done several jobs to satisfaction.
However after inspection it is clear the tiling adhesive has totally failed. The adhesive is still stuck to the wall but despite using pressure and correct tools to provide the grating effect there is little adhesive on the actual tile.
On the adhesive tub there is a L2 code date saying 2 months before purchase on top but i think this is production date not best before.
I am now faced with removing all the tiles that did "appear" to stick as i am concerned for the safety of my young ones.
It probably going to cost me £150 to replace the tiles not including my own labour plus lost cost of adhesive also.
I have emailed with complaint to BandQ and to Unibond using standard online "form".
Im really miffed. Its taken a lot of hard work to build all the bath elements, support frame plumbing etc only to have the tile adhesive give me a big headache.
Has anyone else had experience of this?
I really feel BandQ/Unibond should take responsibility for the extra cost I have lost due to the product but suspect I'll get nowhere. Suffice to say if the tile had damaged the bath (at £640) i would be incensed and not just very unhappy.
Happy for any feedback or guidance on my woes.

Did you mix the adhesive in the tub to keep it moist?0

Tubbed adhesive works through dispersion not via a chemical (cement reaction) it is ideal for the DIY but lacks good bond due
If its adhered to the wall and set then the issue is the tile and/or fitting
The back of the tile could have been slightly dusty, depending on the surface profile it should have been wiped or a very light skim of adhesive
I'd suggest removing all tiles and retiling with a cement based adhesive from a trade outlet - Mapei and Bal are the main trade brandsHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -

I can vouch for the efficacy of both brands having used adhesives from each of them in replacing my kitchen. The BAL adhesive that I used on the wall tiles sticks so well that when I had to pull eight tiles off a couple of weeks later due to realising I had made a mistake (I felt a proper idiot too when I realised), the adhesive didn't come away from the tiles, the tile came off the wall with the adhesive and it was the plaster underneath that came away from the wall!Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230
