Has my carpet been laid correctly

Hi, I have just had my my carpet fitted but there are a few niggling things I am not sure if correct.
1. The carpet in the hall doesn't sit tight against the wall. In the other rooms it does. There are some brown buts which need painting but overall if I was fitting this carpet I would have fitted it tight against the wall to hide this.
2. Three bags of carpet were left. This seems a lot. 1 is okay for spares but 3 is quite a car load.
3. There appears to be a line running straight towards the doorway in my daughter's room. I have been told this is a dent from the roll and it will fade out in a few weeks.
4. The doors do not close so I need to take all my doors off.
I can't add images as MSE won't let new users add links!
I just want to know from someone with experience whether this is normal of if alarm bells are ringing?

1. Difficult to say without a photo, but if gripper is fitted it should be to the wall.
2. Depends on the room shape.
3. Correct it should disappear.
4. Normal.0 -
I agree with Davey.
It would be interesting to know how much they sold you compared to the actual room squ metreage size.
My small bedroom needs 11.5m but actually measures 8.5 msqu, I need to buy the 4m width and will have lots of wastage. some fitters guarantee there work.
The 3 bags probably include underlay?0 -
At least your fitter had the decency to put it in bags - mine just left it all lying around, and did a rubbish job which the owner had to come back and improve. (His best fitter supposedly!)
It still wasnt to my full satisfaction but let it lie!
It was a waffle type pattern, ie in squares, now any normal person would fit it, on a quarter turn step, with the straight line across the step, parallel to the edge !0
