Student confused about offers

My son is off to uni in a few weeks. He has savings and because I am a soft touch is unlikely to go into debt more than a few hundred pounds. So what are the thoughts of the best offers with a small free overdraft.
I have searched for hours and can't really find an answer.
NATWEST looks good but I guess students get loads of discounts anyway. Any advice appreciated.

Hi, I've been looking at this for my daughter who starts in September and I think the Nat West deal looks best. The overdraft is the main consideration and they charge 0% plus offer up to £1250 in the first year which is higher than some that charge. As a secondary the freebies are good too, you get a free 5 year student railcard and a webcam if you set it up online. The nominated branch is also local to her halls. Best to get it sorted before freshers or he might get sucked into signing a duff deal in exchange for a few beer vouchers or a squeeky pig!!:beer:0
