Hi,
Me and my wife have had a DIP from halifax, we have found a property and the offer accepted. we put in the full application to halifax on 16th oct. Today 19th october a valuation for the new property was booked by halifax for 26th oct and also the fee taken from my account.
Does this mean all credit checks have been carried out and passed?

The fee is collected at point the application is submitted.
Valuation is instructed immediately.
Halifax system re-scores the application regularly between application and completion, so there is no "home and hosed" point you can relax until you have the keys in your hand.
No heavy credit purchases nor new credit applications between application and completion, just to be on the safe side.I am a mortgage broker.
