Hi I have one of these cables that I got with my X6 I think.
I understand that it is to connect the phone to the TV.
I have a Samsung S5 and a Samsung tv
Could I use this cable with my phone and tv with out anything going bang and what is the cable for anyway as I have never used it
Thanks

cable is special video out for Nokia so you can play stuff from the nokia on the TV. It would work between Nokia and TV but I don't think it will work with Samsung phone - think you'll only get audio. Won't go bang though, nothing to fear there.
If you have a internet or new-ish TV you might be able to 'cast' your phone to TV.
Or, it seems you can get some cables to connect the phone. Haven't read this thoroughly though

Note - most video and TV apps don't allow you to output to a TV annoyingly. iPlayer does, but C4, ITV, SkyGo don't.School is important, but Rugby is importanter.0 -
Samsung haven't support video out via the 3.5mm jack since the Galaxy S, when the Galaxy S2 was released they moved to the MHL standard for video output via the micro USB connector. You can use a cable like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cable-Adapter-Samsung-Galaxy-i9600/dp/6041414182 to get a digital video output from your phone or as previously suggested your TV might already support miracast or similar and allow you to cast your screen straight on the the TV without cables.0

Thank you everyone
I found the cable in a draw and rather than bin it I thought I would ask on here what it does first.Spending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.0
