    A reminder to all Elite, be nice to all posters please. We never know what is going on in people's lives and it can sometimes be easy to take comments out of context and read intent where there was none intended.

    We also need to be on our best behaviour or RF and the forum team will be after us :A.

  • Hi.
    why did I marry a minimalist???:mad:
    Hi ilovegreatdanes, I hope you are well.

    I am married to a hoarder. Luckily you can walk around the house without falling over stuff. One of my friends cringes when she comes round and gently gets me to get rid of stuff. :rotfl:
    Mortgage debt 45,000. Thank you all for your help so far in helping me save to buy the house. I could not have done this without all your help.

    We could set up a business training A staff...

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Unfortunately I can't do training that well (training of others) - they actually took me off that as I'd go off on tangents and then into depth about everything included that which the trainee really didn't need to know. This was before they, or me, "knew" that I had (and still have!:D) Asperger's - clearly my style was somewhat different to... everyone else's basically(:rotfl:) and, whilst not "wrong", it obviously wasn't the best suitable - they knew I was different and I sort of thought it was too but didn't really fully know - it was sort of implied that it wasn't really suitable for me and I sort of agree but never really knew. It's probably a different concept for me to explain there, but I hope I've done it well.

    The 'problem', from my perspective, was that, if I didn't tell them all the details of the information, then they'd miss that part out of their doing of the job and thus would never be doing the job technically correctly. Just what happens to most people whom I was then seeing never did a job thoroughly and I always picked up every mistake and put it right myself. That's the thing as well though - things get passed down, through training, from one generation of staff to the next and things get missed in the communication downwards each time, such that the next decade they've stopped doing that thing entirely because no-one ever got told. And then sometimes I'd meet situations where I'd done a job, perfectly adequately, as they had, for ages - only to be told, five years later, that there was something I had never been doing - because it had never been mentioned in the staff training by the staff member who trained me and how I was I to guess that I should have been doing some extra, and very minor, procedure for five years when it had never been mentioned or referred to in any way at all? And of course it never mattered as the job had been adequately done for all these years without anything major happening or anything, really, going wrong and the staff then none of them doing it fully and completely right but none of it really mattering at all that much.

    I suppose that, in the end, it would not have mattered if I'd not mentioned the detail, the extra procedure*, as the staff would similarly have done an adequate enough job. Just like the one I'd done for five years without doing the minor procedure that was never told to anyone (or me). What I ended up doing was confusing everyone, I suspect, because they can't take in all the information about their job that I was telling them:rotfl:. But then I was doing the job 'better' (in some respects) than anyone else in the team and picking up everyone's technical mistakes. Although, in other ways, e.g. organisation and prioritisation, they did things slightly better than me - although I wasn't too bad and could prioritise and do all the requirements of the job fully and correctly (other than the minor thing that neither me nor anyone else ever did for years on end as no-one ever knew:rotfl::rotfl: - we sort of found out when the people that wrote the manual finally paid us a visit:rotfl:).

    It's the same with staff at A, and any supermarket, isn't it? They'll be staff that have been doing something and dealing with vouchers for several years in a certain way and it later turn out that they were always doing it slightly or technically wrongly (even though the 'omission', or 'mistake', wasn't that important - and no-one ever sought to point it out for all that time) when someone eventually mentions it and they respond "oh, we never knew!" And then they do it that 'new' way, that should have been done all along - until someone realises that that was incorrect in some minor (and, in truth, immaterial) way/procedures have been changed in the meantime but the communication of them downwards never done.

    *But then I would not know what to leave out of the explanation and what to include (as all parts seemed relevant and equally important to me - who is to say that one part of a job, which is all part of the job, is more important or not than any other part?).
