Morning my order just arrived with £20 off You Win Some You Lose Some have a nice day

I don't mind the order was cancelled, it just means I have do some normal shopping after work now. The effort! :rotfl: My day has started off pretty good. In early 2012 I did a PPI claim via Halifax and they wrote to me to inform me that they didn't think the compensation was high enough. This morning almost double the amount went into my account. :) Booking flights when I get back! Hope you all have lovely days!

  • Has anyone seen balls of chunky wool on their travels? At a reasonable price? Please

DD was bought a knitting set last year and has made a scarf. She's now decided she'd like to make some for Xmas presents but we need really chunky wool...as the knitting needles are big and chunky

Hobbycraft is fairly reasonable if you catch them during the 3 for 2 offer. Also 15% discount for new members when you sign up ;)

Even Iceland it seems is doing the same. Those Birds Eye Steak and Chicken Pies that were £1.50 earlier. Now £2.50 and 2 for £4!

I suppose you could say that that is still a 'good' offer, as the standard offer prices elsewhere are £2 and it's fairly unusual to go down to £1.50 like Iceland did. However, I don't buy at regular offer prices:rotfl:.

This time the man in front managed to buy a McCain oven chips pack - with "Extra free" labelling - that is nearly as bad (from the public's POV) as the Mr T offer. Quite a lot of money being paid in order to get the "free" part of the product.

We criticise (or some of us do) governments for entering into PFI contracts that leave expensive bills to be paid for years to come and the contracting with private operators that charge too much and then find out they can't carry out the contract and don't provide "value for money" or, even, payments to charity that later closes down - however the public generally appear to enter into such bad contractual arrangements and perhaps people ought to look at themselves first.
