    Good morning,

Bad news I'm afraid I won't be able to adopt Hugo after all, however I still intend to adopt a rescue dog. The lady who looks after Hugo messaged me saying she had not realised that Hugo would be around cats and she felt this was too risky. She said even if they were in a different room he'd know they were there and would be barking and pacing driving us crazy :(

I go to my inlaws most weekdays so need to adopt a dog who will get along with their dogs as I wouldn't want to leave him home alone (Their cats live in a separate room and don't go out as they are FIV positive). Also they have agreed to mind my dog if I have to get a part time job at some point in the future.

Hugo has dominance issues and is a risk to other animals if not handled correctly. I thought long and hard and decided that I don't have the experience to deal with this and don't want to put other animals at risk.

I've seen another dog who seems ideal at a different rescue. I won't post more detail just yet as I don't want to jinx this, I want to wait until I have my dog home before posting pics again :)

Evangeline sorry you cant adopt Hugo.
Glad you found out about his issues before you adopted him would have been heartbreaking having to gave him back.

Good luck in your dog finding :A

Ah I'm sorry to hear that but I firmly believe Hugo wasn't the dog for you and that there is a more suitable dog for you somewhere. Everything happens for a reason in my opinion.
When me and DH were contemplating getting another dog we went to a rehoming centre and as we were talking to the man we both said I think we are doing the wrong thing. The man was very understanding. Obviously they want everyone to be 100% before they take a dog home. We had long conversations about it and decided to let the right dog find us, this is what happened with our first dog and we had her for 17 years.
The funny thing is we were so at peace once we had made the decision and kept congratulating each other on doing the right thing then about three weeks later our neighbour knocked and asked us if we would consider having Bobby.
The rest is history! I used to have a clean, peaceful house and now we have Bobby! But we wouldn't be without him for the world.
I firmly believe the right dog is out there for you Evangeline and in time it will find you.

I am feeling much better after a good nights sleep as had a bit of a disappointing day at the hospital yesterday:(need more antibiotics as they think I have an infection in operation wound and not healing properly so back up there again next Tuesday. DDLala had appointment at another hospital yesterday and obviously I could not go with her and now I am worried about her as she has been referred to a specialist hospital:(the old saying it never rains it pours comes to mind today .

    Good Morning Nannylala :A

Hope antibiotics clear up your infection and next weeks appointment goes well.
Send my love to DDLala and hope she is ok :A
