A lovely Elite read back with talk of butter knives and unusual Christmas gifts.

But I'm getting seriously jealous about you lot getting together on the 25th:o :D

Would be lovely if you could make it too TM, I'm sure MKS won't mind me saying I have a spare ticket as neither of my DDs can go so she may be coming along too. I'm sure there must be other spare ones.

Actually hasn't ILTS chickened out of meeting up? :rotfl: I kept her picture too to make sure I recognised her. :D

I think the only way to do it scamps would be to add to it...with more mince, tomatoes etc to dilute the taste of the garlic.ie make twice as much.
That's not much help if you haven't got anymore mince though:o

I know for salty food people add a potato to absorb it but I don't know if that will work for garlic.

    Is it inedible?

So, in M today, aside from the all-important Dr Oetker pizzas ending:(, there's not too much change fortunately (after last week's horrible price collection) and my first price collection took me about 1 hour 15 minutes as opposed to the more normal 2 hours - but you know that it'll take me ages to update it all on here:rotfl::rotfl:.

:(Msm creating doubt about the Chilli Mac Cheese now. I was expecting it to end in M today.

    Morrisons Kitchen Italian Lasagne (400g)

    Store_8.15px.png
    £2.17:( 54.3p / 100g
    Store_2.15px.png
    £1.50

The Macaroni Cheese is not on msm, but this is one of the four items (including the Mac Cheese) that were on £1 last time. (Others were on expensive (surprise, surprise) 3 for £6 mbuy pricing, I think some of them have previously been £1.46 each.)

On the Macaroni Cheese today, I have the following prices: £1 until 8th November, £2.17, and £1 until 15th November. Two thirds of those in a single store. So, it looks like they may have put the price up in order to extend the offer for another week. They may have staff putting the £2.17 SELs on the products even though the offer is continuing. Or maybe the offer is being pulled early and the 15th November offer labelling in another place in the store should have been removed.

Basically, I was expecting the Rockin' Chilli Chorizo item to end today in M - and therefore for it to be over on the APG in a day or two's time - however it's possible it could continue if the APG picks up out of date SEL information similar to that I have in both of my stores today. It must be hit and miss as to whether it'll get £1, £2.17 or something else - but I was expecting that this would end today in M. In one store they've put £2.17 on the Mac Cheese but left £1 on all the others:( (means nowt) - but may be possible that other stores have left £1 on the Mac Cheese and changed others - if APG gets stores that have Mac Cheese £1 then it may get £1!

Perhaps it's all a big decoy - to try to get people in some parts of the store buying something else on the same shelf, that looks good price there but is actually really expensive, even though the price on the item they are avoiding is actually much lower and that's only in evidence in a different part of the store that people may not visit (as it's nearer the back). However, there, it is on the aisle ends, so maybe it's to get people buying that product there and to sell it. People who see straight £2.17 (maybe it's £1 until 15/11?) might well think 3 for £6 on the other meals was better:eek:.

I've again got a lot of the 4 for £3 health and beauty items on straight full price in one store - only evidence of any mbuy deal is on the aisle end where some of the products are on that shelving. It's individual price £1 items that are also 4 for £3. However - you would not know it: the Blister Plasters packs are showing £1.15 - no offer label in that store - but are £1 and 4 for £3 offer labelling in another store. On top of a £1.15 SEL "sticker":rotfl:. I think APGs may pick up the barcoded 'sticker' underneath:(. Then they have MacCleans Fresh Mint toothpaste showing £1. So - I wonder - is it now also 4 for £3? :(Turns out the actual price is £2 and any 2 for £2 in the next store. So, if you see £1, maybe you could argue, on the basis of the "Health & Beauty" offer label, only on another aisle end, that it is therefore suggesting it is 4 for £3. However, I think it would be a long-shot, as there's not much evidence of any 4 for £3 in that store. As usual, the Lynx Shower Gels I feel are risky:(: they are straight £1 of course there, even though they are 4 for £3, and, in the other store, I have... straight £2.37:(:( again, even though they are £1 (and 4 for £3).

So, maybe that's another thing, to have people buying 3 at £1 each or, not being aware there is any 4 for £3 offer and picking up some other, much more expensive products instead. I have most of the Radox Bath Soaks (500ml) showing £1 there but one of them shows £1.90. Meaning that it too is £1 and 4 for £3:rotfl:.

It may, or does, appear to work - and have people buying things that are more expensive (that look good only in the context of the surrounding shelving and the current pricing on items there - this is how people - not on here obviously - tend to shop: they look for whatever seems best value on the prices they see in the store they are shopping at at the time they happen to shop - rather than buying only on offer when they are cheap and planning in advance).

The Advent Calendars. One of them, the Dairy Milk, is 2 for £2. However, I have the main aisle showing £1.76 individual pricing on that in one of my stores. There, the other advent calendars, that are showing 2 for £3:eek: appear to be very depleted!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: In the other store, where the mbuy 2 for £2 is showing, but no indication of 2 for £3 on the others:rotfl:, the 2 for £2 calendar stock seems depleted:rotfl:.

I also have Regina Belle kitchen rolls - 2 pack at £3 in the main aisle. There are some 3 for the price of 2 packs, at same £3, in that store but only right at the back of the store, well away from the kitchen rolls aisle. You would never know - if you wanted kitchen roll, you would, I think, be unlikely to walk to the back of the store, instead more likely to go straight to the toilet and kitchen rolls aisle - and find 2 pack rolls only at £3. Meanwhile, the 3 for the price of 2 packs may be at the back, there, to catch people as they buying something else and think - ooh - kitchen roll - and pick the 'right' one up, at £3. But it still got them to make that impulse purchase. A bit like chocolate pouches in the wines aisle.

The location of the kitchen roll, and the fact the offer packs are not obvious to those who just go for kitchen roll - and may be paying over the odds - may just be coincidental - some of the pricing mistakes on the SELs are certainly human error or staff not getting to them or SELs not being distributed to stores - or there may be a reason for the location of particular items and prices. Particularly as this one, whether it was thought about, whether it was intentional or not, seems to work on both levels: to have people needing kitchen roll overpaying and buying a two pack, whilst those who weren't intending to buy are now buying on impulse the offer packs but still that promotion has worked! It has gone them buying and paying the store again.
