    Yes bubbs, I do. :A
A year ago was a very dark time for me. I was lucky to count yourself, TS, QoC, TM and Nanny as friends. I will also never be able to repay Dotty and FC for the continuing support that they gave and still give me. In my darkest moments, Dotty and FC were always giving me a kick up the behind, in the nicest possible way and were there always encouraging me not to give up. i am lucky to have met such lovely people through this thread.

"We all have many types of friends,
And in our life they come and go.
But if we can understand their roles,
Then it can be easier to let some go.

Some friends are there for you,
At a time when you are in dire need.
They have come into life for a reason,
Giving you what you require indeed.

But when this reason is resolved,
It often becomes time to part,
Because when the reason is gone,
Both may want a fresh new start.

Other friends are there for a season,
To laugh with and have lots of fun.
But just as seasons come to an end,
    Sometimes these friendships are done.

    Some people are very fortunate,
To have very special lifetime friends.
Who will remain in their life forever,
And that is a friendship that never ends.

I am lucky and have many lifetime friends,
Who came into my life for a reason.
We've enjoyed many laughs and shed tears,
But they stayed long after a season."

How'd your Christmas cake turn out?

Did you put brown paper around the outside of the tin as well?

Ive just lifted it out ellie....... I put grease proof around the outside as I couldn't find any brown paper and then the hunt was on for string.

    Mr TM suggested insulation tape:eek:

    Finally found a little bit:rotfl:

It smells gorgeous but unsure if it's risen as much as I would have liked ......however the top is lovely and flat and not cracked:T

I will leave it until the morning and give it a good inspection:)

Not sure how the insulation tape would have worked.

I am a totally rubbish cook but when I lived at home with my parents I made Christmas cakes every year, even made my own wedding cake. I could never find string, usually ended up with ordinary knitting wool. I only use the oven now for burning the kids' chicken dippers.
