Thank you very much. I tend to stick to vT but this will encourage me to do a vM shop! Must go and look at Savvy's list...

From tomorrow;). Or possibly even Thursday by the time I get to it:(:rotfl:. I've now got two different versions of the gammon to look for in M:eek::mad::(:rotfl::rotfl:.

To be fair it sounds to me as if much of what's on my list, even if I've crossed the whole out, should still be valid. Plus the Pork Shoulder, and possibly the 1L specific branded alcohol bottles (have you spending more money now:(:rotfl:). Unfortunately some items that have been crossed out on the list as they went up in price in M can't now be easily seen when the whole is crossed.

Which now leads me to explain...
(I've thought of mentioning this before, but now have the opportunity to do so...)
There are some items that are being kept on the list, even though they appear crossed out (this is after it all reverts back btw). For example, if an item goes up in price but is still fairly 'good' at the increased price - as it still probably represents a saving compared to what's available elsewhere (I don't check all this out btw), then I'll keep it on the list. However, items that go up in price and become 'poor value', after being crossed out to indicate that their prices have expired, are being completely deleted. Some items are being kept on the list, in 'crossed-out' form, for reference - others stay there for two or three weeks, just for you to get to know what's expired, and then I delete them. Others get crossed off and then fully removed when I come to prepare the next list.

So that's what those items that continually appear crossed out, week after week, are. They're still, probably, fairly good - although are crossed for you to know that their price went up. Others, with frown, like the Salsa dips probably aren't even very good anymore - and I'll get rid of those from the list fairly soon I think!

Put short (or not, you never know with me:D:rotfl:), occasionally there's prices that have increased by a penny or so - the old price will appear crossed out (unlike the supermarkets, I cross out prices when they were lower before) - the fact a price is crossed out does not imply that it increased on this price check, it may have gone up some weeks ago but I'm obviously not deleting everything off just because it's increased by one penny. So, I will keep it there - but the previous price kept on (for you, and me, to be able to see the price increase) and crossed out format for it. I will probably keep the item itself uncrossed (just cross the previous price out) if the item's still good, otherwise the item name itself will be crossed out - such as the Salsa dip - if, really, the whole item should be removed. At least I know how this system of mine works:rotfl: (even if I have trouble explaining it:().

I'm alright with the gammon though, as I saw £2.86/kg on msm a couple of days ago and have now remembered that price ever since! I just cannot forget it. I see something once and remember it for eternity! It'll be there five hours later. It'll be there the following morning, next week, next year and for the rest of my life:rotfl:! It just... pops right into my head!:D:rotfl::rotfl:

I just don't understand how people could ever see a price of £2.86/kg for some gammon and then how they could ever not remember it for eternity. How do you do it? How do you manage to forget?:rotfl: Just a mystery to me, how you could not remember it.

I went to Lidl earlier, and those few items were off the top of my head. Thing is, when I was looking at a few things - I had no pen and paper there, ten minutes before closing, I just popped in and what I wanted wasn't there so decided just to have a quick scout around - I saw a few things and thought I'd never remember of them - and now I get back home and almost every last detail has been somehow committed to mind and I just remember it all vividly!:D:j:rotfl:

I had endless worries in M, without pen or paper, thinking I'd never remember any of it - and then I when I got back home I remembered virtually of all it (and quite accurately - occasional slight bit out here and there, but mostly absolutely spot-on - and I don't think many people have this 'talent'). I am however these days doing pen and paper in M, at least so that it takes a bit of strain off me and so that it doesn't feel like exam revision:eek: every time. I've had enough of exam revision in my life - I'm older now. I don't need to be doing that much again. So, even if it is a bit more time, I'm actually not doing the 'memory man' thing any more - and haven't been doing this for several months now. Pen and paper again tomorrow:T (just for the changes, I still remember what's not changed*).

*And to be fair I'd probably remember everything else:eek: as well even if I wrote nothing at all down:rotfl:.
