For some reason that i dont know:rotfl: i dont like red potatoes:o
I like... whichever potatoes are on 49p for 2.5Kg (or £2 for 12.5Kg) at any given time:j. :(I end up paying way too much as they never have those offers on enough by the time I run out of potatoes. At a push, I can manage with a couple of tins of potatoes and then maybe the McCains microchips that were £1 in Iceland some time back to get us to Wednesday, but really I need M to put the Unwashed potatoes onto £2 on Monday. Come on, M, play ball!;)0 -
£1.89 for a bag of potatoes? It's like Lidl having "lower" pricing on apples bags that still leave them at well over £1!_pale_ Some "offers" are there to ignore - it doesn't matter what the original price was that they are said to be reduced from, the current price is way too high and I need well under £1!:p:rotfl:
I did see some apples near the till that had no pricing on them. I took them to check - £1.19!:eek: And they went straight back on that. Always makes me either frown or chuckle when I see such daft red-background offer labelling like that. Such as was £1.75 (for a pack of apples!), now £1.19:eek:. New low price - no, thanks.
Bit like the Alpen Lights, that had of course been 50p, then showing a red-background to the label of £1. They didn't say they had gone down at all (and indeed, from 50, they had not). Some people, that don't shop there every week, would indeed assume that red background means it's an offer:rotfl::rotfl:. Especially as these people - they like their expensive £1 prices:wall::rotfl:.
I don't know - with me these "£1" red labels, they are like push buttons that stick out and say 'push me back in':rotfl:, bit like "great value", used after a good offer has been on in order to increase the price and therefore, instinctively, I turn my back on them!(:rotfl:) It's because I'm there nearly every week and know that the prices have just gone up - and so often, all too often, it is red-background labels, that do not claim that it is any offer, but people merely assume (wrongly:laugh:) it is, that are put on as the price labels after the offer had been better the week before. People do associate red background with meaning it's an offer (usually when it's anything but the case) and therefore, if you see a red label, probably means you should ignore that and not buy the product as it's probably no good:rotfl:. Anyway, you should be buying the offers of another store and thus not picking up many red label items even if they are offers in the store you're in:laugh:.0 -

Mine on Monday... That's the end of a great time
(spending over £10 apgs) cba for a sv each time.
lesliejack wrote: »oh if only they would. I must have been at least 20 mins at the checkout in Asda today trying to use my APG. She scanned the barcode, scanned the other barcode, scanned the receipt, the till voided the lot, so it still said I owed the original amount.
So she tried again, using a short cut she had been shown how to use, the till voided the lot again!
Supervisor called, he put them through & the till voided them all. He suggested they had been used before & that was why they didn't work! I told him I wasn't happy he seemed to be accusing me of fraud.
This situation has been going on in my local Asda for weeks, every SA has a different solution, but today was by far the worst, The queue behind gave up & went elsewhere.
I suggested to the supervisor that maybe the manager should do something about it, only to be told the managers do nothing.
in the end I told him the total of the APGs & they were put through as coupons, leaving me 14p to pay as I expected.
Asda shopping is not a lot of fun at the moment!!:eek:Do most A's have this system in place now? In the store I've been using lately, APG's scan just like any other MOC, they don't need to scan the barcode at the bottom or on the receipt.
Not in all stores yet but on its way - only 1/3 in my area has it yet (the one I spent yesterday evening in and abandoning my shop due to the till throwing a wobbly - and that was with Stella not APGs).
Do the tills still need authorisation below £9.99 for APGs? I haven't seen the new one working properly yet so wondered as they didn't seem to login on the self scan- scan top, scan bottom and manually put in transaction from the bottom (or scan with hand scanner if working). 1/3 has always needed a supervisor override on normal tills but has only ever needed the self scan operator on the self scan.
Fortunately I have just been in and bought my cider but I still see it as losing £12 from missing COS/CS last night due to their stupid till (even though overage and APG covers cost of papers). Personally I don't see this as being greedy as I bought the newspapers just before closing in normal shops when they would have just been returning them (so not depriving anyone else), but appreciate this is more than some people would buy and there are other views. Some will be going to the tombola (or maybe more than some - haven't tasted them yet!).
Many thanks

Someone getting A's expensive Loyd Grossman's offer again (2 for £3:eek:) but are they 99p or £1 elsewhere? Yes, they are, at Morries, but sadly they only got one that compared. The Baxter's soup again:mad:. Baxter's soup now currently my most disliked item on the APG:mad::mad::rotfl:. Fortunately they got a Hellmann's that compared £2 vs £2 - by pure luck and chance though not by design:( - that could have been a very bad purchase if they had got the wrong one. The Oxo cubes not bought in 2s:( - they don't lose but not as good as they might have been - and Egg Custards 4 pack is a no-compare:(. I think it's only 2 pack in M, 2 for £1, so should have bought two of those. Really inconsiderate aren't they these people?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: They could have exactly the same number but perhaps just added a little bit to the APG for me! Or else they should have bought 4 pack in twos and targetted Sains instead:rotfl::p. Fancy buying the mbuy on the LG if one of them was not going to compare!
5 items on your receipt qualify for comparison Asda morrisons
1x ASDA Chicken Chargrilled Thick Sliced (300G) £2.50 N/A
1x ASDA Extra Special Medium Roast Beef Slices (120G) £2.50 N/A
1x Loyd Grossman Tikka Masala Sauce (350G) £1.50:( £1.00
1x Baxters Favourites Chicken Broth (400G) £0.50 £1.11:(:(
1x Warburtons White Medium Loaf (800G) £1.00 £1.00
1x Oxo Chicken Stock Cubes (24X6G) £2.00 £2.19
1x Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise (600G) £2.00 £2.00:)
1x ASDA Chosen by You 4 Egg Custards (4PK) £1.00 N/A
1x Loyd Grossman Jalfrezi Sauce (350G) £1.50 N/A
Comparison total (compared products only) £7.00 £7.30
cheaper +£0.30
They know how to overpay though, even if by not nearly the correct way. V.small sauce bottles - judging by that - not even 500g for something so expensive but just 350g:rotfl:.
Not as many wombles as I'd hoped but I did get one or two of them with okay results.0
