Went to A's this evening to get some cidre and OH wanted some chicken drumsticks. I didn't even look at comparing them and just got some other items to make up 8 items just to see what the APG would be £2.52 APG
A vs T
Was aiming for a A vs M hence the milk and pears mistake
2x Stella Artois Cidre Raspberry Cider (500ML) £3.34 £3.33
1x ASDA Grower's Selection Conference Pears (600G) £0.85 £1.47
0.24x ASDA Grower's Selection Loose Onion (order by number of onions or select kg) (PER KG) £0.16 £0.16
2x Stella Artois Cidre Elderflower Cider (500ML) £3.32 £3.34
2x ASDA Butcher's Selection Jumbo Chicken Drumsticks (1.5KG) £8.00 £6.66
0.02x ASDA Loose Ginger (Please check weight when added to basket) (PER KG) £0.04 £0.05
2x ASDA Grower's Selection Sliced Carrots (335G) £1.00 N/A
1x ASDA Fresh Milk Whole (6PT) £1.30 £1.48
1x Sofcell Toilet Roll (4 PK) £1.00 N/A
2x Stella Artois Cidre Peach Cider (500ML) £3.34 £3.33
That's it though - despite the milk and the pears becoming a "mistake" (the pears particularly:eek:), you still got what you were aiming for - and more. If somewhere else happens, unknown to you, to come out cheaper still, then it gives you better voucher vs that place. (That's why I try to make sure that I get the items against the best place in the first place, so things like this can't happen - would like even more than what they give:rotfl:. So, clearly, had any of us known, none of us would have put the milk on the shop and you'd have bought completely differently to what you did. This sort of thing was more than half the reason why I started going to M to find out prices - four years ago now:eek: (and been at it ever since:rotfl:, on and off before I started here on the Elite) - remember this back in the days when we had virtually no information at all. I'd only have, of the competitors, S, T and W information available, from msm, and would do, for example, a targetted shop against T only to find that one or more of the items in my basket was, unknown to me, even cheaper at M. This caused me to become 'curious' about M prices and, eventually, lead to me going to M first in order to get the information. At first I was only going there for the 8 or so items that I planned to buy from A (just the shopping I was doing the next time). Then I wanted more consistent information - and ensure that shopping I was comparing against elsewhere (T, S and W - didn't really do W that much and this was the time when SP items were still largely good vs Sains:rotfl:) didn't have better alternatives in M. I think some of M's offers can be better than the other stores - T and M have good offers mainly - and M can be quite cheap (if you buy the right stuff) - it went back to such a place last week although it seems to have been a bit worse this week, yet some good offers are still there. Unfortunately no good for Northern Ireland but, for the rest of us, it certainly does help with APG, as my womble just now showed:T:T. 10% cheaper than everywhere except M!
As for my price collections, it's just expanded and expanded... not quite out of control though:D:rotfl:. (Almost:rotfl::rotfl:.) All from that Shredded Wheat being a further 50p (or whatever) cheaper than T in M from one of my APG shops years ago:) (I ended up, of course, still paying more than M's price for that, because 10% cheaper than T wasn't nearly low enough!:(:rotfl::rotfl: Even though, at the time, 10% off T's price was the price I had sought - and got.) I'd always been a bit curious about the APG though really - though never shopped using it and never got anything from it until I discovered how to use it the way we do - always curious about what exactly was a comparable item and about which items were comparable to where (which of course I now know about, all in depth and (nearly) sometimes photographic memory of:rotfl:. I just can't go to a store though and ever really pick up and buy much from the shelves, knowing, as I always do, exactly what will and won't lose out. I've mentioned before; I've bought incorrect items in error, occasionally, and had failed shops but I just find it completely impossible knowingly ever to mix up any shop now. It can have it's own problems though, of sorts. I usually end up picking something that works out more expensive but which is technically best against my chosen shop:eek::(:rotfl:.) (That's also happening when we have glitch shops that happen to have to target W. I find it hard to put any SP or 10p sweets that are N/A against W on there as they 'should' go on other shops:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::(.) Don't always copy Savvy, as I'm not always right;).
I won't mention the carrots:o:o:rotfl::rotfl:.0 -
Okay, see you folks!
Might have a day off from here later today (and pick up my M list on Sunday night:laugh:). I'm supposed to be hitting Mr A today (this time) and getting as many wombles as possible immediately after big Saturday shopping (by others;)). Nice run-up to Christmas now - hopefully crazyyy amounts of money being spent! (Where do all these people that seem never to shop the rest of the year at all come from just at the end of October and then up to Christmas? Presumably people still need to buy food in March - but where are they all?) Just need to get the right time to arrive, just as everyone's leaving:T:T - hopefully (schadenfreude I know!) for everyone else to be stuck in huge traffic queues trying to get out as I get clear roads in:T. (And they don't have to go and shop at the busiest time do they? But, if everyone did that, then other times would then be the busiest:rotfl:.) Really does pay sometimes to be the complete opposite of everyone else:). Buying in a different way - you can't save by buying the way most people buy - because that's what the stores know and target their promotional activities towards and it's how they make their money! Need to keep buying what they "don't want us to buy":D:D:cool::rotfl::rotfl::money::wave:0 -

They came back from holiday and... exited via the departure lounge! Apparently quite difficult for them as it was a chore going up and down lifts and stairs with heavy luggage just to come out that way! Otherwise, would have had to pay probably quite a charge parking up at the car park to await the arrivals, but talk about the effort to try and avoid that... Had me circling round and round whilst I awaiting for them to be there to pick up:mad::mad::mad::rotfl:. Which I did, from the "drop-offs" point.
The free parking on the side roads would clearly be my preference there - subject to there being space. How easy would it be to walk for the 2 stops though? Or are the tube stations quite far away from each other at those parts?
I always do research online before I'm going somewhere new, to try to find the best parking - always a good thing to do.
Picking up from Manchester airport is a nightmare - inevitable if its a very early morning flight but otherwise its easy if whoever it is when they arrive, they then get the train from the airport - not sure about the stops inbetween but there is a good enough service to CREWE which saves us an hours drive plus the parking and pick up mither“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Just marking the calendar, the next 2 Fridays are going to be interesting exercises. I think if possible I'll try and move the bulk of the shopping to Fridays so the normal muggle shopping plus any Shopotize cashback items will disguise the free cidres
(and also have a couple of no spend days midweek to compensate for touring supermarkets on Fridays)
So firstly we need to get cheaper copies of the Sun - for instance you could get some at Sainsburys and pay £2.50 worth in nectar points
Or make them part if a £5 waitrose shop with your free coffee and a bit of shopping.
My little Marks has a newspaper stand and I've got a Marks gift card with credit on it from a current account switch so I could also get some Suns from there.
At least then if you get your Suns previously you can then go into Sada, Morribobs or Mr !!!!!! with your vouchers pre cut and ready.
Some people might have saved their Morrisons till spit £5 vouchers to print off closer to Christmas so now would be a good time to get these
And some people have been fortunate enough to get mr !!!!!! conditional spends as till spits - might be time to see if I can get one of those.
Then you have to think of storage. I've got a couple of the mystery wine boxes sadly now empty. Usually I wait until I've got 3 or 4 and then Freecyle them as they are good boxes for house movers. In the meantime I can store cidre in them. My Oh has finally eaten the last of the OOD walkers crisps so there is a box shaped space.
This week I think some of us have been fortunate to get the full bottle price taken off and this has resulted in some overage to use towards the rest of the shopping but I think shops will cotton onto this and just use the multibuy price so we can't rely on getting full value. I got meat with my overage this week but I know it can't be relied upon.
And as always whilst we are building our cidre stocks its also a good time to take a bag to our local food bank - my Sada and !!!!!! both have collection trolleys at the end of the tills every week and my Sainsburys has a collection trolley for the local cat rescue hospital and one for Christmas things for the childrens wards at the hospital so plenty of opportunities for balancing out our good fortunate at getting some cheap cidre
(40p a bottle so not free but it ekes out the expensive fizz and mystery wineCoupon for free Stella cidre in today's sun newspaper up to the value of £2.50', one per product purchased. Looks like it will be price input. There is also going to be one on the 13th and 20th November
£2 or 3 for £5 so maybe buy the paper in 3's :beer::beer:“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
My apologies, wrong person, thank you bluewkd :T
I hope the rest of the coupons will also be free cider and not 50p off or somethingFinal cigarette smoked 02/01/18

I'm not sure if you think like I did that the Sun is one of the free (if you spend a fiver) papers in Waitrose, if so it isn't as I found out to my cost a couple of weeks agoBe thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)
