Hi Everyone, we're in a state of shock this morning. Our lovely hamster who was only 17 months old and as fit as a fiddle suddenly dropped down dead last night :(

Sounds silly but couldn't sleep last night thinking about her. We've had three hamsters but this one was my favourite. She was so friendly and, as much as hamsters can, had a real character.

My DD2 is in pieces :(

Aww shame. I know how you feel . We had three on the go once all in different cages running like mad in those wheels. Dawn had a thing about them once but soon got fed up of cleaning their cages so it was mugsy who did it as they stank after a while.
  • Thank you everyone for your kind words.
The doctor has just been so now I'm waiting for the oncology team to come. I'm sure they will let me go home I've had anti biotics and bags full of fluids.
Bubbs glad you have got an appointment hope they get you sorted.

Does anyone here use bars still?

To wash my hands I have gel out for visitors but myself use the free bars of soap you get in hotels. We tour for our holidays (I know, not very mse) and I never run out. In the kitchen I have one of those old-fashioned magnet things to hold the soap, though I do have handwash there too in case my hands are greasy and the water is cold. (I don't run it to hot just to wash my hands.)

In the shower I use a scrunchy thing with shower gel, but only when it is cheap or free. Otherwise I use the scrunchy thing with bars of soap. Glitches apart, soap is cheaper and much more environmentally friendly because you don't get the plastic bottle.

I used to use flannels but the scrunchies seem to be more hygenic (I thrown them in the washing machine often) and now the flannels have become dishcloths in the kitchen!

Interesting how different we all are, isn't it!

I have to say DD2 has been brilliant. I have never had to clean any of their cages ever :T:T

Just a thought, but if you don't drink cider, there are plenty of school/church/scout/community Christmas Fairs coming up in the next month or so where they will be looking for prizes for the bottle tombola :). This may be a way to get free prizes.

Last night I bought some of the 5 for £1 sweets.

3 x Fizzy strawberry flavour wands
    Strawberry laces
    Cola wands

The multi didn't come off at the till so, although I didn't bother, potential for giftcard.

Made a silly error and put through an APG that took my total to minus so had to refund it all and put it all through again. But then CSA put my onions and carrot through on same barcode so no APG. Was only a very small shop thank goodness so no real loss. Something always goes wrong if I take my DD's with me
