True. Trouble was I was merely trying to get back up to break even and had nearly managed that but, now, £260:mad: lost! On top of all my not quite breaking even last month. So, simply now going to take me an extra month, beyond this new current month, before I get back to where I was before.

Could you not go to a breakers and do it yourself?

I have had mine done again recently as well, they used a biro to get behind the mirror and prized it off carefully taking the clips off. Only bonus was that they cut themselves as was clearly visible on my once red car that's faded pink!! my Ariel has also been prized out as well and the gits took my wipers before, so it is obviously someone with a corsa like mine and I'm funding their habit!!!

Oh well, good on them!:) I won't tell anyone what I really think of them on here, I'm being very restrained! It's right outside my house though and now we have people like that round here, it could just happen again. I suspect it was those youths on Hallowe'en and around with fireworks generally making a nuisance of themselves (and worse) like they do this time of year - could even have happened on Saturday and me not notice it for a day:o as I didn't go out yesterday.

Thank you to all who said alpen will still compare. I hate asking as I, myself find it annoying! But I told a friend who does sw that they are 50p in m and she asked me to get her some for tomorrow. I was going to do a straight m shop but when I went in, as savvy said, they are on a special buy of £1 now!
She gave me a fiver for 10 packs of various flavours so at least this way I can give her change although she won't understand why even if I did try to explain.

    Some special buy indeed:p.

    So...off to Mr A instead:D:cool::T.

    It's a draw!:j

So, all of my money-saving efforts last month wiped out by that idiot that's stolen my car mirror:mad::mad:.

Just what happens - experience, chalked down, move on.

I know how you feel, its like wading through treacle - trying to make a visible difference with your finances and then just as you are starting to make progress you get the legs kicked out from underneath

we had a couple of dreadful months- holiday payment, the builder and his £3k bathroom, cat injections ... the excel graph plummeted downwards.
This month I thought we were going to turn the corner again finally but no its actually just a lull before the next storm.
The car has just come back from the garage after an MOT, major service and they also had a fiddle with the back breaks.
Cheeky so and sos also charged £4.32 plus 20% vat for windshield wash when it was already full
so that's the November credit card bill doubled in one fell swoop

    £522

Not with my autism condition I'm afraid, just too hard:(. So, I'll end up just paying the amount:o.

I wish I did know how to do that, but this is the sort of area in which I don't do well. I wouldn't know where the nearest breaker's was to be honest or how to find out. Believe me though, sometimes it just saves time (and way too much disruption, and stress) to go just for the easy (and costly:() option. It's just easier - I'm sorry, that £260 - bizarrely - is just "worth" paying for me, just to avoid any greater bother.

Oh, so easy! Just search for "breaker's yard [and then my location]". Yes, I could try that but I'd be driving around (with no mirror) to get to various places... and still no guarantee of finding the right one when I got there. It's not just the mirror but the holder too (hence the cost, but they always rip you off). But just easier to drive straight to the repair place on Wednesday. I'll see if some of my family can help out tomorrow. (They'll be furious:mad::mad: - probably more so than me:o:( - but certainly not my fault.)

If you get phone numbers, you could give them a call to see if they have your one in stock - save driving around. I have done this in the past, saves a lot of time (and hopefully money) :)

Just rang one (nearest one - I think they are all closing at 6) - and they haven't got the part. Woman answered asked for the make and year of the car and just said she hadn't got the part. Onto next one I suppose.
