Have you ever tried using a Microwaveable Rice Steamer? I get pretty good and consistent results from mine (not this one, but £6 at Sada as a typical example)

serum6 trigger, two oils is apg around £11

Check which poo/cond is in bobs.

I do minimum 9 items £10.70, so three haircare for £2 if avoiding £10+apg
