Yes i posted on here the other day, she had to have more complicated surgery than expected:( and couldnt get her pain under control, she did not know how long she will be there, the kids were being taken by there grandparents this weekend so that cheered her up:T:T

Anyway as you can tell I am back from bring AWOL - full report once I've written up my tripadvisor paragraphs and written a complaint letter to Bella Italia - more of that much later.
But its a week full of appointments so I will be more late night lurking than contributing
We had a weekend just outside York which was as beautiful as ever
October half term is never easy and as the years go on it gets harder. Its 11 years since my Mum died but its still difficult - that October half term on the Saturday I dragged all of my gang up to see the patents (about 30 miles away) and mum was in fine form as always.
Sunday night she died in her sleep and dad found her on Monday morning, broke his heart.
So you can see why we keep ourselves fully occupied so I don't have time to think.
Eldest child and her BF flew from Manchester to New York on Saturday, a long trip 14 months in the planning and she face timed us on Saturday night from NY which was lovely. They were stopped at border control coming into the US and had a terrible time going through customs but it was all a bit if a misunderstanding but both of them were nearly in tears thinking they might not be allowed into the country - took an hour and a half to go through though.
Also youngest son and his GF have split up - I don't think she could hack the long distance relationship and son is the strong silent type who won't and can't because of his work, do daily skypes - very sad and very upsetting
