Kitchen come conservatory

We are thinking about putting up a conservatory next to the kitchen and then opening it up so it becomes a kitchen/conservatory dinner.
Has anyone here done this and what do they think the pros and cons are for this?
I have had a conservatory before so I'm aware of the hot/summer cold/winter and the noise of rain but I was just wondering is this combination of rooms had anything else going for it.
TY in advance.

Not in debt at the moment, but been there in the past and realise I'm the kind of person who could easily fall back into it with the self destructing spending button so making sure I keep on top of being a good girl.

Good evening: One major consideration could be the requirement for planning permission/compliance with Building Regs eg. if you open up the kitchen to a conservatory does it become an extension? See here and click on the conservatory for more info http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/uploads/hhg/houseguide.html

Thanks for that canucklehead.
I think the position of our conservatory would be in a bit of a grey area after looking at the build regs. The conservatory would be two sided. One of the windows in the kitchen would be opened up and the door from our now dining room to patio would then become the door into the conservatory. Would a window already with lintel and staying the same width but just being opened up at the bottom of the sill, constitute building regs?
Need to look into this more. Not in debt at the moment, but been there in the past and realise I'm the kind of person who could easily fall back into it with the self destructing spending button so making sure I keep on top of being a good girl.
