    Nationwide - £250
    Halifax - £300
  • Think it's actually £300 for Nationwide too. Extract from their website below:

    Cash machines
As long as you have enough in your account you can withdraw up to £300 in any one day.

    Branch
You can withdraw up to £500 per day at your local branch, as long as you have the funds in your account or an agreed overdraft. If you require more than £500, please give your branch a minimum of 48 hours notice (requests may take up to 72 hours - we recommend checking with your branch in advance). For Cash withdrawals over £500 you will need to present one piece of ID (either your passport or driving licence(with paper counterpart)).

    Post Office
You can withdraw up to £300 in cash at any Post Office branch by presenting your card.

I asked my mum who said it was £250 as she has a Nationwide Flex account, so I could be wrong lol

You can't use the Halifax in the post office (accept for basic account Halifax Easycash). Halifax allows you to withdraw £300 cash at ATM and then £1200 cash at counter meaning £1500 per day, if anymore then ordered

That will be plenty. Thank you both.
I had never considered post offices before and I am so close to one.

Would that apply to both Nationwide and Halifax? What about paying in? Can that be done at a PO too?
If yes, would funds start earning interest immediately like if deposited at a branch.
You learn something everyday on here.

Have a look at the summary sheet accessible from the page below - it summarises what you can do at the PO for a range of banks etc

Anactuary, you have taught me a lot tonight. To think all these years, I've toddled off to various branches.
I could have saved a small fortune in petrol if I'd known that years ago.
    No problem!
