Changing a Wood Burning stove yourself

Hi all -

I need to swap a wood burning stove over in my house. I've spoken to a company who have said that I can remove the stove myself but not fit it, and they are asking for £££. I've also spoken to building regs who said it will cost around £149 to come inspect it if i do it myself, but adequate access is required in loft to inspect chimney and price could increase if they ask me to change anything.

My concerns are firstly that the the £149 could change, and also my loft is inaccessible at the moment. On top of this it's a job I know I can do, as I have already disconnected it and the new stove I have will fit the same adapter, and flue etc in good condition.

I've also read up on regs regarding clearances etc and all is fine.

So am curious what the risks are regarding reselling house, the law, and insurance. (Company told me it'd affect selling the house, but we only just bought it and it didn't come up then!)

Thanks
