Supplements To Boost Immunity

Options
Kittie, you mentioned avoiding the nightshade family foodwise in one of your previous posts. what is this?
I am suffering badly with arthritis.
I love having an orange last thing at night, should I be avoiding these for arthritis, also what about tomatoes?
Has anyone tried a homeopathic remedy Rhustox for aches and pains, any feedback gratefully received-.
Also I take a Vitamin C tablet every day and usd to take Echnacea from October to April for colds immunity, but still got quite a bad cold last February, so am rethinking.
I feel quite run down as I have had a lot of stress last month-a friend suggested I need totake something to build up my immune system, but I don't know what. I looked at zinc supplements today, does anyone have any suggestions please?

I am allowed to give any specific medical advice but I can tell you in general terms what I do to try and avoid arthritis. My mother had RA very badly and was eventually in a wheelchair, so I am well aware of the damage that arthritis can do and also the terrible unwell tired feeling

I avoid tomatoes and peppers, potatoes and aubergines are also members of the nightshade family

I take a very good multi vitamin/mineral for older people, I use lamberts multi max advance

For helping the circulation and and to keep inflammations down, I use ginger and turmeric

I eat at least 5 a day maybe 8 a day veg and fruit (berries apples pears) but so much veg are hard to eat whole so I make juice

I am about to take another herb to boost my immune system for winter. I took sambucol last year and felt well all winter. I am not taking sambucol this year, only a...........

I no longer eat oranges. At the moment I am still taking napiers joint joint support blend. My joints have stopped aching and are recovering after all the extra hard work from the past weeks

I will not advise on homeopathic medicine, not allowed to. The causations need to be tackled first ie the diet and perhaps how you use your joints eg there are big stresses on thumb joints when carrying full plates

epsom salt baths are an os remedy for pain and inflammations. If you cannot get into or out of a bath then a foot soak is good

People also avoid wheat but I don`t because I make sourdough bread. Soft white shop bought I would avoid. I avoid sugars which cause inflammations

Re the stress. It causes a rush of adrenaline and is a causation. Meditation, gentle music, looking at a candle flame

Thanks kittie. I don't have RA, just lots of arthtitic aches and pains. My recent MRI showed a lot of arthritis in my back where a small piece has narrowed compressing on a nerve, hence the sciatica like symptoms first thing in the morning, when I first get up.
Do you use ginger and turmeric in cooking, I've only ever had ginger with honey for colds?
I have IBS, so too much fruit and veg I can't tolerate.
    I haven't heard of Samucol,did it help?
Of course I was not asking for advice on homeopathic medicine, just enquiring if anyone had tried Rhustox and how they found it.
    Thank you for your reply.
