Shower advice

I'm about to get my bathroom re-done and have decided to go for shower panels instead of tiles in the shower. What I'd like are acrylic panels but they seem to vary widely in price. I'm hoping to have a 900 x 900 shower enclosure and Wickes sell the panel kit for £850. Other places eg B&Q are lower but surely the panels shouldn't be more than £100 each as they are only acrylic. Has anyone had experience of using these panels and buying them at a good price? There are various online places offering to cut the panels to size but what about the bits at the bottom that the panels will sit on and how are they joined to prevent leaks?? Any advice is appreciated. Also, can anyone recommend an excellent bathroom supplier?

The acrylic panels are more expensive then the standard wall panels, if you go for normal wall panels you should be looking to pay around £150 inc vat for each panel plus the trims.
The acrylic will be nearer £250 each panel depending on colour/style etc. Abacus are a good company who supply 'lustrolite acrylic panels'
I would recommend visiting a couple of plumbers merchants who have decent showrooms and see what they can offer, you should be able to find better quality product and may get a bit of a discount as well.

Thanks for replying Alan. I know the acrylic wall panels are more expensive but they look better than the standard ones. There are many companies supplying the panels but I didn't think they should cost more than £100 per panel. Hopefully someone who has bought these and had them fitted can advise me.
