stock levels wrong

Has any other business seller noticed issues with stock levels being wrong?
A few days back I sold something on a MVL that I didn't have- I was a bit surprised especially as I was sure I had run out of that variation some time previously- but I assumed it was my error and luckily the buyer accepted an alternative. Today the same thing has happened- I have sold something on a different MVL that I only checked a few days back as I had an enquiry about stock- in fact not only have I sold something that is out of stock I am also showing I still have a total of 11 items left- when in fact I only have 3. I even have a note in my stock book reminding myself that I have run out of these.
Bother, as though things weren't bad enough
EDIT:
I've just checked the item I am currently wrapping and that too has an error in the stock remaining. I wonder if this has anything to do with the sold lists that keep disappearing?

Yep - after people had mentioned this on another board, I checked my listings and had more in stock of some products than I should have done.
I only keep one of each item in stock on ebay and don't have a huge number of listings, so the discrepancies were easy to spot, but a nightmare if you rely on ebay keeping an accurate count as part of stock control procedures
The ones with extra stock were listings where I had sold about that amount of items, so ebay seemed to have added back some of the sold items.0 -

Yes now that you mention it I sold something last week that I did not have. I thought it was because I had sold it via one of Webinterpret overseas listings and it had not updated on the u.k. side.
I ordered one from another business seller and they were not bothered about delivering it to my customers address luckily as it was a low value item...
I hope this won't be happening often, could be costly!0 -

I can't possibly check all of mine- but have found 2 so far. Luckily my supplier has come up trumps for me so I can supply the item I sold that was out of stock.
I'm busy relisting from my unsold lists at the moment to make use of the 50,000 free listings and started off checking stock levels but it is very time consuming.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks for posting this Soolin - I thought I was going bonkers as I've had this happen to me twice in the last week too! The first time I thought I must have just made a mistake when initially listing the items, but the second time I knew I hadn't as I'd checked that particular line only the day before prior to re-ordering stock. I don't sell either of those lines on any other platform, so know it's not an error caused by selling items elsewhere and forgetting to adjust.0

This has happened to me this weekend, stock levels gone wrong and I've had a price reduction on something I had put the price up on last week. How can we be expected to operate under conditions like that?Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Yet another glitch that we are expected to work through! Add that to all the other ones and it is a miracle any of us are still sane.
I haven't had any more stock level issues - so it looks as though it happens when they tinker- which of course no doubt they will deny.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
