Back boiler flue

For the past 15 years had an annual boiler service from BG on our Baxi back boiler (about 30 year old).
To date it's never had one issue. About 15 years ago we were told we needed an external vent in the room so we installed an external vent. A few years later we were told the regs had changed and the vent needed to be bigger.
Now after the last service the engineer told me everything was okay aside from the vent not being big enough and that my boiler was inefficient and did I want a quote for a new one, which would save me £250 a year on heating bills. I said no as moving the boiler was so expensive (from inside wall to external wall and all associated pipe work) that we had decided to wait until boiler broke down to replace (we have had money aside for this for years and when we refitted our kitchen/utility room recently we made provision for the placement of new boiler).
So my OH reads the paper work and says he's ticked the box at risk and that he's switched off boiler, attached a safety label and that we had refused remedy. The issue is the flue. He never mentioned the flue to us or what was wrong with it and there is no safety label attached and he left the system on.
Rang BG and they said "oh regs have changed for flue so it's unsafe and he's turned it off". We said he hadn't turned off and he hadn't mentioned the flue. I'm pushing for second engineer to come out but they just said they will cancel our homecare policy.
So any ideas what is wrong with our flue?

Hard to tell without seeing it. Sounds like they've messed up on the paperwork and on providing you with a proper explanation
I'd also be contacting Gas Safe to ask how to proceed on this matter0 -
BG have just rung to say they are sending out an engineer to reinspect this week as the box for "appliance flue and ventilation safe is not ticked". He had option to tick yes/no/advice and it's the only one he didn't tick!

Just be sure to ask for a proper explanation of the paperwork and more importantly ask why the flue is 'At Risk'0

Yes please post back, I can't wait to hear the reasonI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
I will do. I can't decide whether I want them to send the same bloke. We used to have the same man for years but we hadn't seen this one before.

Sometimes they use contractors during busy spells. Their salary depends on how many visits they can complete
Hopefully your 2nd visit isn't a contractor.0 -
Had our second visit different engineer. Wrong box ticked, only risk is the vent being the wrong side for regs, no issue with flue so same position as last year.

oops typo yes size, It used to be the right size as when we took out full width patio doors (it's only external wall in our back lounge) we put in French doors and on the day the builder was building up the wall the BG engineer was there and told him the size vent needed to be. Sadly the year after the regs changed and we needed a bigger vent. We decided not to change it!~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)
