    regards

You don't necessarily need bank statements. Not everyone has a bank account and that doesn't exclude them from renting property. You could state you're paid in cash which is not illegal as long as tax and national insurance deductions have been made.

For future reference maybe if you want a mortgage at some point...I have a current account which my money comes in. This money then pays the essential bills rent, council tax, gas, electricity, phone etc and the remainder is transferred to my spending account the day after I'm paid which I then use to withdraw cash, spend money gambling online (the transactions I need to hide) and the credit card and loan repayments are also made from here. I also purchase as much as I possibly can on a credit card. At the end of the month if there is anything left in my spending account I transfer that to my savings account and repeat the cycle again.

If a landlord or bank then requests bank statements I show them the main current account which just has a few transactions on it covering the essentials and the savings account. I do not show them the spending account or the credit card statement.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Once you are rejected that's it you can't negotiate. The LL's rental guarantee insurance would be invalid if they were to rent to you.
Wow! How can you read the terms of THAT landlord's rent insurance policy on THAT property from where you are?? Amazing!
  • so people on here dont think me handing in a bank statement as proof of current address and a payslip which is out by 13p compared to the statement will make much difference whether a landlord turns me down or not?
