Working two jobs is not always practical as a single parent with the need for childcare (availability and cost) as well as giving the child time with yourself as the only resident parent. The child may need Mum around more not less as they will also be dealing with the changes in their home life emotionally.

    Yes tell me about it.
I am a single parent to 3 , but I have to work two jobs to support us all.
If she is living near family then she will have the childcare and more time to work.

Thank you to everyone who responded.

A quick update - I decided to stay close to my family. I managed to find a house with the cheapest rent I could possible, am in the process of applying for housing benefit and a job closer to home. My son is starting to get to know his nana, auntie and cousins which he didn't really know before. Result one happy three year old, great result.

Thank you for everyone's support, you don't know how much I appreciated it x

I'm happy too thanks for asking. Definitely feels like I've made the right decision despite what the ex says.

Not yet, he's told me through his solicitor how much he legally has to pay me but hasn't started paying it yet.
