My Plusnet broadband deal 12 month contract has ended which was about £19 a month and now it is £28 a month so do I look for another deal with plusnet or whoever, I dont want the hassle of cancelling my existing contract then the openreach BT man disconnecting me from the exchange then the openreach BT man having problems re connecting me.

Do a bit of research to find the best deal, then phone plusnet and say you're moving unless they come up with a similar offer.I am not a cat (But my friend is)0

But you've said you're out of contract. Why would BT then come and cut you off? Normally you only get cut off at the exchange if you don't pay the bill.
But anyway, look around and if you want to move provider, it'll happen behind the scenes. There may be a small amount of downtime (line and/or broadband) while you switch but that'll be it.0 -
DON'T cancel -find a better deal and get them to handle the transfer -its only when you actually cancel your line that you can get the issues you outline in the original post.0

Please note that PlusNet, like Sky, have a retentions area where they can offer you the best deals.
I have been with PlusNet for almost two years and pay just £4.29 a month for anytime phone calls and unlimited b/band. I paid my line rental upfront at the start of my 12-month contract. I can't remember what I paid but it was something like £150.
Make sure you speak to plusnet retentions before cancelling.0 -

That's an odd amount. It was £5pm for Anytime and is now £6pm.I paid my line rental upfront at the start of my 12-month contract. I can't remember what I paid but it was something like £150.
It's not available at that price any longer. It's now £185.88 - not worth it for the small saving.0 -
Thanks for replys , Im just looking for unlimited broadband , I rarely use the phone , I may ring plusnet retention people and say I want broadband for £5 a month plus the £18 line rental which will be £23 instead of £28Let them eat cake (Marie Antoinette 1765)0

That would be daft.
Contact the Customer Options Team and say that you are now at the end of your contract and are looking to see what is available. Tell them you have seen the Sky deal at £17.40 for Line Rental and free BB for a year and ask if they could match it.0 -
I just called them and asked if they would be prepared to renew my contract for another 12 months under the same terms as now - they immediately agreed.
I have always found PN to be particularly keen to keep their customers and I always ask nicely! I've been with them for 5 years now.
If you are otherwise happy with PN then why go through the hassle of changing suppliers if they are prepared to discount.0 -
OP, your contract has not ended and you would not be cut off. Your minimum term has ended and you are now on 30 days notice-the contract continues until you give and serve such notice. If you do nothing it runs as before but at the non-discounted price. No free lunch, and no free laptop
