I was going to post this on "justanswer TV help" but you have to pay upfront and then ask for a refund if not satisfied...so I thought I'll try here first and maybe elsewhere like digitalspy ? Or can you suggest anywhere?
Panasonic TX-P42G20B Plasma TV - 1 blink code = Unknown SOS. At switch on the TV clicks as it starts up then clicks as it switches off leaving the red light flashing once every 3 seconds. The screen remains dark at all times.
I have downloaded the service manual for TX-P42G20E which seems to be very similar, I have not found the service manual for the G20B.
I removed the rear cover. It is screenside down on a soft surface. I have a mulitmeter, though if you want me to check anything, I will probably need very clear instructions where to place the multimeter leads. I also have the TV and this computer at different locations, so I won't be able to do tests quickly.
I removed the power supply lead from the SS and the SC boards already, and turned TV on with both of those disconnected, but still get the 1 blink error.
This TV has no fans inside so if you need me to check for power getting to the boards please tell me how to do this...
Thank you for any help you can give.

I suggest avforums.com
This is my Dad's TV I think, and I had a G10. I can't help you with the fault, but the TV is at least giving you some information. Would be interested if you found a list of 'blink codes' and what faults they mean.
Complete guess is the power board as this seems to be the weak point on lots of TVs.0
