But i am self employed so it is better, you are in full time work so really i don't think you need to worry.
So are you saying it is ok for full-time employed people to breach terms and conditions?
That would be really funny.0 -
My fault, really. As the question was in regards to business banking, I thought people would automatically assume I meant personal banking when I said I work in 'personal' as opposed to 'business' but clearly I was wrong.
No, you were right, it was the obvious interpretation, I'm rather surprised that Archi got it wrong. And I think jones may be being over-cautious - if you didn't work for the bank I wouldn't worry about occasional payments, but as a bank employee it may be better to be seen to be squeaky clean (and if it was me I'd put my other earnings through an account held at another FI).0 -

This is absolutely fine. I have no problem with the way you asked, Archi. I didn't appreciate EssexExile's comment which is why I replied the way I did. That comment wasn't aimed at you in the slightest.0 -

Thank you. Always worth asking.0 -

I have regular money going in every month from google to one of my personal accounts and never got asked any questions, but when i had bank transfers totaling 15 grand from various people go into another personal account they asked questions, luckily they believed my BS.
I now have a business account anyway.

Thank you. That's really helpful. Personally, I didn't think it's worth having a business account for - just thought I'd ask because I didn't want to be doing anything I shouldn't!

I thought so at first, thank you.
And yes! That was one of the reasons I didn't want to ask around my bank. I'm thinking about moving my account from there anyway as I've seen other colleagues viewing accounts and comparing salaries. It just makes me uncomfortable. I assumed everything you do on the computers was tracked and yet, this has been going on since I started and nothing's been done.
Thinking of opening a personal account somewhere else - and probably a separate personal account just for the money I make with my writing.
Thank you, agrinnall.0 -

Viewing data unnecessarily is against the Sarbanes-Oxley rules (although it's a US Act and bank doing any business in the USA would be expected to comply), and in my view is grounds for dismissal for gross misconduct. Access should indeed be logged for audit purposes. Which bank is it, so I can avoid them?0 -

I feel uncomfortable saying in public but I can PM you.

Well you need to get a better sense of humour.0
