They have £1 share capital (so if they go bust only £1 to go round, maybe...)
The auditors have just resigned... (!!!)

Hi sorry to jump onto this thread I'm with them and meant to exchange next week. What does it mean that the auditors have just resigned?
Would anyone mind explaining that to me. I'm suddenly very aware I'm meant to be handing them over my deposit etc next week.
This has now worried me.
Thanks so much.

I wouldn't be at all worried Maz - if you click on the link KPMG have sated that there is nothing they have to declare about the resignation, and Premier Property Lawyers are subsidiary of MyHomeMove and largest conveyancing company in UK.0 -

Thanks LittleMax that did make me feel better until I scrolled down and saw the next one...
Theartfullodger could you please expand on what that means if you don't mind? effectively I would like some advice as to whether I should hand over my money to them or is there a possibility I'll never see it again?
Thanks

Maz - I really wouldn't worry they are a huge company, if they collapse tomorrow it would create a crisis. Auditors resign for all kinds of reason, but by law they have to advise if there is a reason that creditors should be aware of. If you click on the links you will see that they have said there is nothing they are required to declare. They actually resigned on 21 September, and these companies have not collapsed. They will appoint another auditor.
So come on theartfullodger what's the problem with an auditor resigning when they declare no issue?0 -
Don't worry about them collapsing - auditors will probably have resigned because they can't agree this year's fees (large dollops of money)
Do worry about service levels - the 'great western' of the conveyancing world - a marketing franchise with no real service standard requirementsHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Currently using 1st property lawyers as conveyancers to handle the sale of my property.
I am having to ring them up to chase them to take action. They say they will phone you back but
don't. My conveyancer is off sick and they don't know when he will return. No one has picked up his work .What sort of business is this? My own conveyancer is holding up exchange of contracts on my property!!!
Thoroughly unprofessional outfit. I used them because of reviews and links on this site. Hope you read this and reconsider....0
