There is a house viewing at 11 today so I have been dashing round madly clearing and tidying.

Around lunchtime dds and son in law are popping in for an early birthday lunch. (two older dds birthday is on Monday but one at least will be away then) Dining room table is covered with presents and decorations.

No idea what I am making for lunch but will get one of them to give me a lift to local supermarket and do something they fancy.

I am sticking to fairly bland food and small portions as my tummy is still a bit upset.

    TA

I am so glad DH is able to eat a bit better :j It makes all the difference physically and emotionally for you both.

I have become a bit blase about viewings as either a sale falls through, they can't get a mortgage, or they decide they want to live in a different town.

A load of washing is in the machine but I can't hang it out till the viewing is over.

    Hugs to all.

  • Lyn, congratulations to your dear SIL, it seems both he and Ruthie have secure futures as far as we can be sure.

Elona, I do wonder sometimes about the Estate Agents. When we were selling Mum's bungalow after she died, the EA sent along a single Mum with 2 older teenager sons. Now this bungalow was 2 bedrooms, but no way were the rooms large, and absolutely no way would 2 teenagers be able to share one room. I had 2 daughters and I know the amount of "stuff" they collect.

The lads were obviously there under sufferance, and I said to their Mum I didn't think the bungalow was big enough for their needs.

It was a waste of her time and mine, and I am sure the EA couldn't have explained the size of the bungalow to her

  • Ye gods & little fishes, the phone is ringing non-stop, BIL2 is phoning in hysterics as he can't cope if his mum dies & BIL 3 is phoning to complain about the will.
My poor hubby will have a breakdown if this continues.
Sorry, but I just need to rant, and I've eaten 2 curlywurlys!!!

  • That sounds awful HuH, hardly surprising that you have eaten the curly chocolate which autocorrect will not let me write.
Something woke me in the night, got up and have done this and that then accidentally fell asleep and missed the phone call of the mothership so probably will be in bad odour now.
The only OS thing I have achieved today is knitting part of a toddler's dress and making a chart of some sheep to knit into the front of it, meanwhile the mister has been to supermarket and saved a fair amount, though he has bought a flat bread which I could easily have knocked up in minutes, but now I don't have to.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

Oh dear Hester what a nightmare! Rather you than me. Poor woman ain't dead yet and they are arguing about what she is leaving behind!

Car passed the MOT but there's a list of advisories a mile long. The garage has quoted £500 plus the £200 he's spent today replacing filters and fluids. I think he'll do what he can himself to keep down the cost. His job for the afternoon is to weld the exhaust bracket.

Shopping done and I'm off to bed.

Hello everyone, sorry that dear folk are going through rough stuff at the moment, strength to you all.

Well we are here in the Peak District and it is beautiful. Our lovely cottage looks down the Manifold valley, the autumn colours in the trees are spectacular, and it's great to watch the tiny white specks of sheep so high up on the hills. Cottage is very comfortable and cosy, almost too much so as our bedroom was far too hot last night, guess the folks who were here before us like it tropical but have turned all heaters down now, I like a cooler room to sleep in.
Have spent most of the day exploring Chatsworth's gardens, they have a Sculpture exhibition currently on and enjoyed finding the various ones in the grounds, stopped for late lunch and are now back with our aching feet up and drinking tea :)

    Afternoon all,

Sending (((hugs))) to those that need them. Congratulations to Mrs LW's Son-IL :)

Lainey and Tru - Enjoy your holidays.

Been to the caravan which is now clean inside and out and has it's cover over it for the Winter. DH always thinks these jobs will take all day but in reality it only takes 2 - 3 hours. He decides we need an early start and then is amazed we are home by lunchtime! Men eh?

Had some HM sweet spud and squash soup for lunch then did the Aldi shop.

Can't decide what to do for dinner.
