Not all lounges are calm and relaxed, especially those where anyone can enter if they pay to get in, sometimes they can be busier, than, say, a quiet corner/spot in a pub in the main departure area.
Only lounges where it's likely to be quiet is usually a lounge reserved for first-class ticket holders, or holders of the top tier of the appropriate airline's frequent flier scheme (i.e. BA's First/Concorde lounge).
Last time I went into a lounge, was a BA Galleries (in Heathrow T5 - for business-class passengers and BA Silver holders), it was rammed, it was hard to find a quiet, comfortable seat, and there were masses of people around the drinks/food areas.
Having said that, I've never been in a lounge at Gatwick, and you could also be flying at a quieter time of day, so it may work out. Just a little warning, you might find it busier than you expect :-)0 -

Not exactly a discount code but when I am booking an airport lounge usually for Gatwick I go through Topcashback. You type in airport lounge and a handful of providers come up and you can get up to 10.5% cashback on your booking. Funnily enough I also have an autistic son and he loves the lounge experience less crowded and frenetic for him."Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0

If you are a member of Virgin Atlantic's frequent flyer scheme (Flying Club), you can get a discount of minimum £2.50 at No.1 Traveller lounges (£22.50 for adults if you are basic status on the Virgin scheme, instead of £25 as the normal advance booking rate). You'd also get fast track security included, though at LGW that isn't always an advantage
You can join the Virgin scheme for free, you also earn miles though they may not be of much use if you aren't collecting more. Details here.

Just to note that while No.1 are probably the best pay lounges at LGW, they are more expensive than the others. There are other choices, especially in the North terminal, which you can see below.

The MSE link below will get you some money off, but not a massive amount.
