Electric question

Hello, my dad passed away and in his wardrobe we found a Bifinett KH 1141 grill. It was new so we were really confused as to why he hadn't used it. When we plugged it in, the electric tripped. I tried it in my own house, same again! Its a shame because it looks really useful. He probably had owned it for years, I thought his wardrobes were just full of tools he bought in Lidl and hid from mum.
Do you think if I replaced the plug it would work?
Thank you.

You need to get it PAT tested. Trying to fix an electrical appliance yourself by asking on the internet isn't a particularly good idea.
If you think just changing the plug and it'll all be okay is just a little bit dangerous.
You need tools to fix this and more than just a screwdriver. The tools will cost more than the appliance.
Another one will cost you £20 from Lidl so just go get another one.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

I was an electrician for over 40 years. I never came across a faulty appliance that was fixed by changing the plug. Unless that plug had been physically damaged and was obviously broken.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

Poor dad, he probably just hadn't the heart to dump it, it really feels like a waste but I will do so following this sound advice. Much appreciated.0
