Hi Every one,
Just to inform you I have successfully reclaimed PPI on behalf of my inlaws for over £7000.
Its been a long hard battle but well worth it. I did it by accident whilst trying to get all their bank charges back, during which I noticed some 'New Loans' and along side these 'Loan Insurance; charges.
I completed all the paperwork for them and just requested signatures for their letters, and let them post them.
As expected the banks did their usual 'NO CHANCE; replies to which we then proceeded through the FOS to help.
Needless to say the banks stood firm, and armed only with the snippets of old statements (some only being 2 lines long) I copied them and sent them off, after 3 long years of proving that these were for existing loans and proof with the 'Loan Insurance' the 'Clydesdale Bank' admitted fully and after 8 weeks of waiting my inlaws advised me they have just received a letter of offer for over £7000 and are now awaiting the funds to be deposited into their account within the next few days, needless to say they want to give me something for all the hard work, but I have refused as I was more than glad to help them,
These loans dated back to 1988 and finished in 1997 so its never too late to check your bank account as far back as you can.
I do think that because they banked with the Yorkshire Bank and took the loans out with them the 'paper trail' was easier than if a separate bank/loan company was used.

Don't give up, just be patient.:

Best regards and good luck to everyone in the future
A very happy son in law
