Fridge freezer on extension lead?

I have a new fridge freezer and am waiting for a new socket to be fitted. Meanwhile is it safe to use an extension lead so long as it is the only appliance plugged in? The booklet says no

Provided the extension lead is correctly rated for the required amperage, and as fridge freezers don't use a lot of amps it is very unlikely not to be, then as a short term solution it should be perfectly safe.
Make sure the flex is fully uncoiled if it is a coiled type, make sure no one else can mess with it or add other devices to it and make sure it is not a trip hazard for anyone using the fridge freezer.0
